Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), for the first time, has launched a Women’s National Super League (WNSL).

Accordingly, both the 50-over competition and the T20 Tournament of the first-ever Women’s National Super League will be held back to back during the month of February 2024.

The 50-over tournament, which commenced today (Feb 06), is a major elevation for women’s cricket in the country, as they get to compete in the country’s Elite Domestic Competition, SLC said.

The tournament will see four teams competing, namely Colombo, Kandy, Dambulla and Galle.

Competing and performing well in the Women’s National Super League will enable the players to graduate to national recognition. A total of 60 players will be in action during the competition, which will be played in Colombo, according to the SLC.

The T20 competition of the WNSL will follow the 50-over tournament.
