Rajitha Jayasuriya,  Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Serenia Ltd., has been named the Inspiring Corporate Leader of the Year 2022. With over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, Jayasuriya has achieved numerous accolades, including the Women Leadership Award and Pioneer Woman Leader Award, and is now being recognized for her exceptional leadership and contributions to the industry.

Jayasuriya’s journey began in 1997 when she joined Ceylinco Consolidated as an Assistant Sales Manager. During her time at Ceylinco, she received training that would become the foundation of her career. She credits the company for bringing out the iron in her, which helped her stay in the competitive and challenging real estate industry for over 25 years.

Throughout her career, Jayasuriya has worked with various real estate projects and companies. However, her most significant career accomplishment was with Capital Heights by Access Engineering PLC, where she worked from 2016 to 2022. Despite the tough economic situation in Sri Lanka during this period, which included the Easter Bombing and the COVID-19 pandemic, Jayasuriya and her team were able to sell all 242 apartments in the project before completion. Moreover, they were also able to commence the Deed of Transfer process and hand over the apartments to their respective owners.

Jayasuriya attributes the success of the project to the visionary leadership of Access Engineering PLC and the right teams in the organisation. She believes that the best teams are made up of a bunch of nobodies who love everybody, serve anybody, and don’t care about becoming somebody. In other words, the best teams are those who work together and support each other to achieve a common goal.

Jayasuriya believes that inspiration is the key to success and that it should be used to motivate and encourage others.
