Sweden and Denmark have joined the growing list of countries to ease travel advisory to Sri Lanka, which further improves the chances of the hard-hit tourism sector witnessing signs of revival earlier than expected.

The announcement from the two nations came in yesterday evening.

Industry stakeholders sounded upbeat about the recent development.

“This is good news for the tourism industry as Scandinavian countries have been performing well in the past during the winter season.

“We do look forward to working with our tour operators in this region to promote Sri Lanka,” said Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators and One Industry One Voice in a joint statement.
