Sri Lanka Embassy in Brussels and ‘Karunakarala Ayurveda Resort’ in Waikkal Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Union Luxembourgeoise de Tourisme (ULT) in Luxembourg, organized ‘Sri Lanka Ayurveda Evening’ on 2nd July 2025 at Goeres Hotel in Luxembourg. The event aimed to promote Sri Lanka as a premier wellness tourism destination in Luxembourg which attracted over 70 participants including travel writers, travel agents and travellers with an interest in Ayurveda.

Welcoming guests, Ms. Lydia Heinisch, executive director at ULT mentioned that the collaborative event will be a valuable platform to strengthen connections between Sri Lanka’s wellness tourism sector and the Luxembourgish travel industry.

Sri Lanka Ambassador to Luxembourg, Chandana Weerasena briefly provided an overview of Sri Lanka’s rich Ayurvedic heritage and indigenous medicine. He also said that Sri Lankan Ayurveda treatments have been evolved and developed with scientific evidence to cater modern societies. He encouraged and invited the audience to explore Sri Lanka’s unique wellness offerings and to promote the country’s vibrant tourism sector among Luxembourgish travelers seeking rejuvenating experiences.
