Commencing his career, Chandula had an apt for the automobile industry. He was successful in importing and supplying vehicles to the market, initially from Japan before reaching out to the UK and Australia. Subsequently, he set his focus on vehicle grooming and servicing before venturing towards other branches of the business world and experiencing every facet available, I am a people’s person, I enjoy meeting and working with a lot of different people”. Naturally, some individuals thrive to outperform themselves and give out the best possible outcome which is what makes them stand out amongst the rest. “I am a perfectionist, I pay attention to all the details and like to be sure that everything is just right,” says Chandula. He also is steadfast about work-life balance, In my downtime, I enjoy watching movies and reading car magazines and spending quality time with my family.”

Redline Capital is a subsidiary of Nawaloka Holdings with a range of businesses. It has been a key player in the market for over 10 years ranging from Aviation to Designing and Printing services. ‘Nawaloka Aviation’ alongside ‘Nawaloka Air Services’ and ‘Tergo Services’ are some companies which cater to facilities management. Redline Design and Redline Greetings facilitate customized services to its clientele. Redline has its branches spread over the destination management sector with their ‘Waves Destination’ and ‘Waves Holidays’ to cater to it. Premium Global Logistics and Tergo Autocare to the logistic market and auto care needs respectively. “Tergo Autocare Workshop will be the new add-on to the Tergo AutoCare chain which will be open to customers from November,” says Chandula. Redline Capital acquired JDC Group in the year 2019. JDC is well known as the leader and the most trusted supplier of printing machinery and consumables. Redline Capital has now ventured into the camera products market under the new wing known as ‘Camera Hub’. “The most recent add-on to Redline Capital is the Camera Hub,” states Chandula. With a hefty and diverse set of subsidiaries under its umbrella, Redline Capital consists of 20 subsidiaries at present.

Chandula strongly believes that leadership comes through continuous commitment and hard work. A leader stands out from bosses through the qualities that they embody, one of which is leading by example and inspiring the team that follows them. “I will lead by example with open communication and invest in my employees,” he states with passion. As the Chairman of Redline Capital, he believes that a lucrative way to achieve the vision of the company is to communicate it down the line to all employees. “It is a good way to foster enthusiasm and commitment throughout the organization as employees are the key to the success of an organization,” he said. Nawaloka Aviation, which is the GSA (General Sales Agent) for Air Arabia and Maldivian, hopes to “increase the arrival of Tourists to Sri Lanka via Air Arabia & Maldivian. Air Arabia will also be commencing flights to Rome from Sharjah from December and we are quite hopeful of increasing the frequency to two flights per day from Sharjah to Colombo”. Unfortunately, the printing industry of Sri Lanka took a hit with the shortage of resources due to the economic crisis that we as a country are facing. JDC Group is hoping to venture out to global markets with their services. “We are on the lookout for more business opportunities in Bangladesh, India and Kenya in plate-making services and to increase our scope to other easily accessible regions such as Dubai as we see the potential in these countries for JDC Group,” Chandula said with hope.

On a parting note, Chandula had some inspiring words to share with the upcoming leaders and entrepreneurs, Anyone can be an entrepreneur as long as you have the strength to take on any challenges in your business, through the ups and downs.
