Adhitya Ayurveda “Wellness & Yoga Retreat” is a luxury wellness centre established in a colonial bungalow, located in the village of Elamulla in Mandaram Nuwara. The centre is situated at the foothills of the Piduruthalagala mountain range in the central province, which is also the highest mountain in Sri Lanka. Picturesque Mandaram Nuwara is a hide-away city in Sri Lanka and the name roughly translates into English as the ‘Misty City’ as the majority of the day it is shrouded in mist. Being located near to the main cities, the tourist hot spots Nuwara Eliya and Kandy, there is a moderately cool climate in the location throughout the year. The Wellness & Yoga Retreat is situated amidst lush green sceneries and surrounded by elegant mountain ranges and waterfalls. This project is the outcome of an idea of Dr Sandun Gunawardhana, the CEO of Gunawardhana Ayurveda Holdings (Pvt) Ltd & Mr Prasad Buwanekabahu, the MD of Sathya Life Balance GmbH in Germany. Here the main focus is to provide the guests with Ayurvedic wellness treatments, Yoga sessions, Meditation programs and other mind relaxing programs such as sound therapy and music therapy. These programs are conducted with the aim of inspiring the mental & physical wellness of the guests. The guests who are seeking Ayurveda wellness and lifestyle experience can directly make reservations through Adhitya Ayurveda Centre in Anuradhapura or the guests who visit Adhitya Ayurveda, with a recommendation by the doctors for wellness treatments can also be transferred to this luxury wellness centre in the cool hill country of Sri Lanka. In house doctors, therapists, yoga masters, chefs and the support staff are available on-site for welcoming the guests and providing them with a life-changing experience. The wellness centre consists of five colonial-type rooms to provide full board accommodation for the guests along with healthy and delicious food. The diet provided here is completely vegetarian and prepared from 100% fresh and organic vegetables, fruits and herbs harvested from the own home garden located around the wellness centre. The centre is also equipped with a pool and plenty of space to walk around and breathe fresh air.
