A high-level delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that arrived in Sri Lanka held discussions with the economic team of the new government where they reviewed the IMF programme thus far, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.

The PMD said the IMF delegation arrived in Sri Lanka to engage with the newly formed government led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

A statement issued by the PMD said that the primary objective of the visit was to initiate discussions on the progress of the IMF Programme and necessary steps towards the release of the fourth tranche of the USD 2.9 billion Extended Fund Facility.
