Police in two Indian states has registered cases after an app shared photos of more than 100 Muslim women saying they were on “sale”.
The accused include developers of the app and Twitter handles that shared the images and content.
The open-source app – Bulli Bai – was hosted on the web platform GitHub, which has since taken it down.
This was the second attempt in months to harass Muslim women in India by “auctioning” them online.
