Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) has officially announced its decision to withdraw from its planned renewable wind energy and transmission projects in Sri Lanka.

In an official statement, the company confirmed that its Board had decided to step back from further engagement in the projects. However, AGEL reaffirmed its commitment to Sri Lanka and stated that it remains open to future collaboration should the Government of Sri Lanka seek engagement.

A spokesperson for the Adani Group officially stated, “We remain committed to Sri Lanka and are open to future collaboration if the Government of Sri Lanka so desires.”

The decision marks a shift in AGEL’s involvement in Sri Lanka’s renewable energy sector, where the company had been exploring opportunities to contribute to the country’s energy transition.
