A visionary strategist with many years of experience in the field of innovation and technology, Sanj Chandran, Founder and CEO of 10QBIT, provides an insight into his company’s evolution.

As a transformational leader who sees and seizes new opportunities and builds high-performing teams to deliver the desired outcome, Sanj has always been drawn to creativity whether expressed through music or building a product. “I also strongly believe that the best solutions are often the simple ones. I suppose it is the combination of these aspects that strayed me into the world of technological development, and when my curiosity found courage, innovation happened,” he explains.

Based in London for the past 18 years, he has perfected numerous skills from various sectors and industries throughout his career, “I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work in multiple sectors such as healthcare, education, management and fintech, through British Medical Journals (BMJ), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Barclays (Investment banking).” His exposure to different organisations and his passion for “applying technology to solve business problems and enabling digital transformation within organisations”, has brought him to where he is today.

Sanj pursued his degree in the field of Software Engineering and received a BSc (Hons) in Computer Software Engineering from Kingston University, London and an MBA in Business Administration and Management, from the University of Liverpool. In 2018, he followed the Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

Sanj has been the interim CTO at Souqbox, a SAAS platform for B2B hosted eCommerce and marketplaces since 2018 and moved further up his career as CTO at Chairsyde, an interactive dentist-patient communication platform, since 2020. He is also a Founder Member of both the London Blockchain Foundation (LBCF) and the Oxford Blockchain Foundation (OXBC). “The knowledge and experiences gained from these organisations put me in good stead to explore the power of digital transformation and thereon to support start-ups and small businesses to make an impactful step change,” said Sanj

Determination fuelled by the thirst to prove himself, drove him to start a venture of his own. As with any entrepreneur, all the failures and setbacks that Sanj faced have steered him in this journey. “My pursuit to create my own venture and to build my own products has been a constant throughout my life. I have tried and failed many times, but the failures taught me not to fail on the same thing twice, and by the time 10QBIT was beginning to happen, I had failed enough times to know better.”

10QBIT was created with the core strength of being a solution provider for complex problems. “A seasoned entrepreneur, but now on a larger scale than I have operated before, I am extremely excited about what the future holds for us at 10QBIT. Innovation, Education, and Transformation are the key pillars that we are built upon and I strongly believe this will pave the way for us to create an impactful and sustainable future.”

The team at 10QBIT is focused on being innovative and providing solutions that exceed the clients’ expectations, “Every one of us at 10QBIT has a growth mindset and that’s the only way to stay ahead of the game. But it’s also about teamwork and how we collaborate, not just with one another, but also with our partners, in building something that we are all proud of.”

10QBIT provides services and products on a partnering model that helps the client along in their journey instead of one-off service. “We have progressed this far in a partnering model rather than as a stand-alone service provider. We take pride in what our clients achieve with our help and in being part of their success story,” said Sanj. “We enable digital transformation, build products, educate and strengthen against cyber attacks, explore opportunities through R&D and invest in talent through our educational arm, Aqcellor Academy. Our core skills range from IoT, blockchain, AI, metaverse, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and most importantly, critical thinking and problem-solving.”

The company dedicates itself to providing a wholesome, all-inclusive information security, deemed crucial due to the ever-present threat that cyber attackers pose. “Having been in the field of ethical hacking, I know how vulnerable even the best of companies can be. It is not just about how much effort is put into strengthening the tech systems, processes, and testing but also the vulnerability of the human element within it, referred to as ‘social engineering’ (manipulating people into breaking standard security procedures and best practices to gain unauthorised access to systems), which is why the 10QBIT information security model puts education and awareness at the forefront of its services.”

Sanj emphasises the importance of R&D by stating, “it is the back bone of what we do.” The approach that 10QBIT has towards R&D is two-pronged; the first is where they have continuous collaboration with existing clients. “Continuous R&D work that we dedicate to our existing clients and partners, allows us to proactively align with their strategic goals and visions. This strengthens our relationships as well as future-proofing businesses.” Additionally, “We have the second approach of experimental R&D, where nothing is impossible and no idea is off the table. This can be two-fold. What is the next disruptive technology and what is the antidote? In some ways, this is the brainchild of the Aqcellor Academy. We didn’t want to limit this excitement to ourselves, we want to help others who think the same but do not have the resources to see it through.”

Sanj is enthusiastic about his Colombo-based team of determined individuals who work towards making 10QBIT advance its mission as a leading tech solutions company. “Who we have in the team makes all the difference. We have a bunch of futuristic, knowledge hungry, extremely talented individuals who have great commercial acumen and therefore are CTOs (Chief Technical Officers) in their own right.”
